Cloakroom with Patterned Floor

A downstairs cloakroom photographed on completion. Neutral large-format wall tiling keeps the small room bright, a wall-hung WC with a concealed cistern and a compact wall-hung basin keep the floor clear, and a patterned encaustic-style floor — laid with a plain border framing the pattern — gives the room its character. An oak door and a mirrored cabinet finish it.

Small rooms are where setting-out really shows. Here the patterned floor is centred and framed with a border so the pattern lands square, the wall tiling is kept simple to let the floor lead, and the wall-hung fittings free up every inch of floor in a tight space.
